2nd Annual APWE Conference!

Our second annual APWE conference is quickly approaching!

March 7th - 9th, 2012

Hosted by Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in San Jose, CA

The APWE Board is currently accepting proposals for 20-minute paper presentations or workshops! Email wildwonders@att.net to submit your proposal.

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

  • 1:00 PM Leave from hotel for pre-conference field trip to San Francisco Zoo, visit their Animal Resource Center (ARC)  http://www.sfzoo.org/
  • 5:00 - 6:00 PM Return to hotel, check in for conference
  • 6:00 - 9:00 PM Ice breaker games, snacks and drinks at Eulipia Restaurant & Bar (one block from the hotel)  http://www.eulipia.com

  • Breakfast on your own (lots of places in the area!)
  • 8:45 AM Meet at Eulipia Restaurant, intro and welcome from the APWE board
  • 9:00 AM Keynote speaker - Norman Gershenz of SaveNature.org  http://savenature.org/
  • 9:45 - 11:50 AM Workshops and presentations

It is suggested to fly into the San Jose airport; the hotel is 3 miles away. There is no specific shuttle between the airport and the hotel, but taxis or carpooling are options. Register by February 15th for $99.

Register February 16th or later for $119.

Non-members get a 1-year APWE membership included with their registration!

Current members get a 1-year renewal of their APWE membership!

Spring NEWS 2010

APWE's Coordinator of Social Networking, Newsletter & Web Design, Brianne Passmore presented at the 2010 ABMA conference, her paper co-authored with Dr. Laurie Marker of Cheetah Conservation Fund titled : 

"How ancient methods of livestock management are helping to save cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) from extinction."
